WASHINGTON, April 18 -- Sen. Ken Salazar, D-Colorado, has introduced the Rocky Mountain FIRES Act (S. 2584), legislation that would "amend the Healthy Forests Restoration Act of 2003 to help reduce the increased risk of severe wildfires to communities in forested areas affected by infestations of bark beetles and other insects."
The bill, introduced on April 6, was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
