GOV. RENDELL CALLS ON PRESIDENT TO STOP OIL COMPANIES' PROFITEERING, RETURN RECORD-BREAKING PROFITS TO CONSUMERS

Gov. Edward G. Rendell, D-Pa., issued the following press release:

With American families and businesses reeling from recent high spikes in gasoline prices, Gov. Edward G. Rendell today called on President George W. Bush to act immediately to put an end to profiteering in fuel markets and tap oil companies' record-breaking profits to provide relief to consumers.

"It is simply bad economic policy to let profiteering continue unabated," Governor Rendell said.
