Sponsored nationally by the Travel Industry Association of America (TIA) National Tourism Week (May 13-21, 2006) is celebrated by communities across the country to promote a wider understanding of travel and tourism as a major U.S. industry that is vital to the economic stability and growth of the United States. Local festivities will kick off in Norfolk Monday, May 15 at Tidewater Community College's Roper Performing Arts Center with a rally of over 300 hospitality workers from local hotels, restaurants, attractions and businesses.
