Article: VT. DEMOCRATIC PARTY: RAINVILLE OPPOSES EARMARKS UNLESS SHE REQUESTED THEM

The Vermont Democratic Party issued the following news release:

In a rare discussion of her position on an issue, Martha Rainville recently came out against Congressional earmarks.

"We can't continue on the way we are recklessly spending, earmarking in members' districts special projects that don't go through the budget process but get added on to bills." [AP, April 13, 2006]*

But it turns out Martha Rainville was a big fan of earmarks in her previous job.
