Rep. Cliff Stearns, R-Fla. (6th CD), issued the following press release:

"Approximately 30,000 children and adults in the United States struggle with this horrible disease, and more than 10 million Americans carry the cystic fibrosis (CF) gene without having the disease," said Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL). "A few decades ago, children with CF often did not live past their 10th birthdays, but, today, the life expectancy is 35 years. I am pleased that the House today approved my resolution, H.Con.Res. 357, establishing May 2006 as National Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month."
