The Indiana Department of Natural Resources issued the following news release:
This year Astronomy Day at Spring Mill State Park is Sat., May 6. The Stonebelt Stargazers astronomy club and Spring Mill State Park will host special events with the focus at the Virgil I. Grissom Memorial. Special displays and presentations on astronomy and the night sky will be presented.
Events include:
Noon: "Infrared Astronomy" presented by guest lecturer, IU Professor Caty Pilachowski. (Nature Center).
Noon to 3 p.m. "Solar viewing" Safely see our nearest star the Sun, and learn about its effects on our home planet, Earth. View the Sun in filtered white light and also in Hydrogen Alpha. Ha is a very narrow ...
