Article: ATTORNEY GENERAL, DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, NINE STATES SUE FEDS FOR SHAM INCREASE IN FUEL EFFICIENCY STANDARDS, ATTEMPT TO PREVENT STATES FROM REGULATING CO2

The Connecticut Attorney General issued the following news release:

Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, nine other states, the District of Columbia and the city of New York today filed legal action charging that the recently announced increase in federal vehicle fuel efficiency standards is a sham and will fail to significantly increase overall gas mileage.

Blumenthal joined the action, which asks a federal appeals court to overturn the new standards, on behalf of Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Commissioner Gina McCarthy.
