The Nevada Attorney General issued the following news release:
Nevada Attorney General George Chanos is urging the Attorneys General in the nation's 49 other states to join Nevada in opposing new legislation sent to Congress earlier this month. The bill proposes to "fix" the laws affecting the development of the proposed Yucca Mountain high-level nuclear waste repository. Chanos outlined his arguments in a letter sent to the Attorneys General today.
"The bill is ostensibly intended to 'fix' the Yucca Mountain program by legislating around both federal and state public health and safety protections," Chanos wrote. "This raises serious public health and safety concerns. It also represents an ...
