The Nevada Attorney General issued the following news release:
The Nevada Attorney General's Domestic Violence Unit is joining with agencies across the state to recognize the week of April 23 - 29, 2006 as National Crime Victims' Rights Week. The agencies are coordinating many events and displays throughout the Silver State to raise awareness of victims' rights issues.
"Nevada's state laws give certain rights to victims of crime but many victims don't realize they are there," Attorney General George Chanos said. "These rights include the right to be informed and the right to be protected."
