Article: HOUSE APPROVES BYRON NELSON CONGRESSIONAL GOLD MEDAL

The House Financial Services Committee issued the following press release:

Today, under suspension of the rules, the House of Representatives approved H.R. 4902, the Byron Nelson Congressional Gold Medal Act.

H.R. 4902, introduced by Rep. Michael C. Burgess (TX) on March 8, would recognize the contributions of Byron Nelson to the game of golf as a player, a teacher and a commentator by awarding him a Congressional gold medal. The bill has 302 cosponsors.

Rep. Burgess said, "Byron's career as an athlete is worthy of recognition, but his service to his community is indeed exemplary. Mr. Nelson is truly an American treasure."
