The Log Cabin Republicans issued the following news release:

Hundreds of Log Cabin Republicans gathered in Washington this weekend for the largest convention and largest lobbying effort in the organization's history. The convention included Capitol Hill meetings and a Congressional reception featuring GOP members of the House and Senate. The convention wrapped up at Saturday night's National Dinner which honored openly gay retiring U.S. Congressman Jim Kolbe (R-AZ). The event featured video tributes from Vice President Dick Cheney and Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert (R-IL). Cheney said that Kolbe has had a "superb career" in the House.
