The Bair family ranch home at Martinsdale will open for the sumin mer tourist season, it was announced Wednesday.
Wayne Hirsch, an executive at US Bank, said an interim agreement with the Upper Musselshell Historical Society of Harlowton would allow the home to reopen as soon as possible, hopefully by June 1.
US Bank is the trustee of the Bair family estate. The announcement was made at a press conference at the Alberta Bair Theater in Billings. The trust's board of advisers has provided a $150,000 grant to the society for operation this season.
The historical society is a nonprofit charitable organization and as such can solicit and receive public funds for its projects.
