WASHINGTON, May 18 -- Rep. Rubén Hinojosa, D-Texas, has introduced the Rural Rental Housing Act of 2006 (H.R. 5373), legislation that would "promote the development of affordable, quality rental housing in rural areas for low-income households."

The bill, introduced on May 11, is being co-sponsored by Rep. Nick Rahall, D-West Virginia. It was referred to the House Financial Services Committee.
