Mumbai, May 19 -- Former India cricket captain Kapil Dev will join legends from other sports at the three-day 2006 Laureus World Sports Awards gala in Barcelona starting Saturday.

The Laureus World Sports Awards is the premier global sports award honouring the greatest amongst sportsmen and women every year.

A total of 32 sporting greats have confirmed their presence. These include former cricket captains Steve Waugh of Australia and Ian Botham of England, golfer Seve Ballesteros, tennis stars Boris Becker, Martina Navratilova and Monica Seles, pole vaulter Sergey Bubka, footballer Bobby Charlton, cyclist Miguel Indurain, athletes Michael Johnson and Nawal El Moutawakel, swimmer Mark Spitz ...
