When John Housenick of Stewart, Minn., was wounded in Iraq in September 2005 while serving with the Minnesota Army National Guard, his wife, Teresa, knew that what was most important was to be by his side.
He suffered second- and third-degree burns on his hands and face and also had severe inhalation burns. Teresa stayed with John for two of his five months at the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research Burn Center at Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas.
