Start-up operation Dean Gordon Trucking needed to hit the ground running, so it hired proven operators and supplied them with proven iron.

Neil Poulsen refers to the operators on the logging crew at Dean Gordon Trucking Ltd. (DGT) as his "Top Guns." Poulsen, who is operations manager for the Peers, AB-based company, hand-selected most of the crew when the newly formed logging division of DGT started up the machinery for the first time in the early fall of 2005. He knew starting a logging operation from scratch wasn't going to be easy, so he says they looked for experienced operators that could produce the numbers they needed to succeed.
