Gov. Mike Easley, D-N.C., issued the following proclamation:
WHEREAS, there are currently over 870,000 cattle in North Carolina that provide a variety of food, leather and other products to the citizens of this State according to the 2005 Agricultural Statistics from the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services; andWHEREAS, North Carolina farmers raise beef cattle in all 100 counties; andWHEREAS, beef and beef products are naturally nutrient rich, providing Americans with a high quality source of protein, iron, zinc and B vitamins, leading nine out of ten households to serve beef at least once every two weeks; andWHEREAS, more than 26,000 North Carolinians ...
