Article: Bonanza for Judicial Service

NEW DELHI, India, June 6 -- THE STATE Cabinet on Monday decided to provide a slew of facilities to the State Judicial Service members in keeping with the Supreme Court directive.

The facilities will burden the exchequer by more than Rs 10.86 crore as non-recurring expenditure and over Rs 5.97 crore as recurring expenses, Minister for Public Relations Narendra Singh Tomar told journalists.

District and sessions judges, senior additional district and sessions judges and chief judicial magistrates each will be provided a government car. A budget of Rs 1.72 crore has been provided for purchase of 43 new vehicles.

A sum of Rs 1.29 crore will be earmarked for petrol/diesel of private vehicles ...
