Article: Introducing the Fukuoka City Public Library Film Archive

The Fukuoka City Public Library was inaugurated in June, 1996. The library comprises the Library Division, Archive Division and the Film Archive Division. The Film Archive Division (the Fukuoka City Public Library Film Archive) is involved in film archive activities in its capacity of acquiring, preserving, researching and exhibiting Asian and Japanese films. The Fukuoka City Public Library Film Archive is the only facility in Japan dedicated to the acquisition and preservation of Asian films.
