Article: LAWMAKER QUESTIONS CONSTRUCTION OF TRANSMISSION LINE IN MINDANAO

Rep. Alipio Badelles of Lanao del Norte questions the construction of the multibillion Abaga-Kirahon-Maramag-Bunawan transmission line at this time when what Mindanao needs is a new power plant.

While acknowledging the benefits to be derived from the P8-billion transmission line being erected by the National Transmission Corp. (Transco), Badelles maintained in his statement Tuesday that this may not be right time for it as there will not be enough power load to support it.

The lawmaker has insisted that more than a transmission line, what Mindanao needs now is additional power supply from new power plants.
