The Department of Veterans Affairs' Healthcare Network Upstate New York issued the following press release:

"Food Check-Out Day" marks the date that the average household will have earned enough disposable income to pay for its annual food supply.

In celebration of "Food Check-out Day", the Erie County Farm Bureau will make a monetary donation to VA Western New York Healthcare System for the purchase of food vouchers for veterans in need.
