Article: COOK COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH WORKS TO RAISE AWARENESS OF HEALTH DISPARITIES IN COMMUNITIES OF COLOR DURING MINORITY HEALTH MONTH THIS APRIL

The Cook County Board of Commissioners' Office of the President issued the following press release:

April is Minority Health Month, and the Cook County Department of Public Health - CCDPH - is working to raise awareness of health disparities in communities of color.

Communities of color in America suffer higher rates of most life threatening diseases than do white Americans including, HIV, diabetes and infant mortality. During Minority Health Month, CCDPH will partner with local organizations to provide information and screenings to residents in recognition of the observance.
