CTA hires Chicago Urban League to find Black workers: Douglas Rehab Project Subcontractor fired by CTA

In an effort to ensure there is a diversified workforce for the CTA's $317 million Blue Line rehab project, the agency Tuesday said it has removed a Black employment firm replacing it with the Chicago Urban League, who will find Black workers.

The switch comes after Ald. Michael D. Chandler (24th) demanded that the CTA hire Black workers for its $317 million construction rehab project which runs through his ward. He led a protest last week when he found all whites working on the project located in his ward.
