The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization issued the following news release: The 30th session of the World Heritage Committee, chaired by Ina Marciulionyte, the Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of Lithuania to UNESCO, started its work Sunday with an address by the Director-General of UNESCO, Ko iro Matsuura, who highlighted the need for synergy between UNESCO's conventions on tangible heritage, intangible heritage, and diversity of cultural expressions.
