CANTON - IKEA, the home furnishing store that epitomizes affordability with slick modern design, will open the doors of its Canton, Michigan store at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2006.

The store itself is enormous. It totals 311,000 square-feet and is located on 21 acres along Ford Road near the intersection with Haggerty Road.

The Canton store is the 28th IKEA store in the U.S. and the 236th worldwide. The store employs 400 local workers, and features 10,000 exclusively designed home furnishings, a 300-seat IKEA Restaurant and a supervised children's play area, all under one roof.
