BREASTFEEDING
Extensive research, especially in the past decade, continues to provide compelling evidence of the long and short term benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and child, and for society as a whole. However, there are also some situations where breastfeeding may not be in the best interest of the baby, or where research is conflicting. In part one of this article JUNE THOMPSON examines the current evidence of the benefits of breastfeeding for the mother and child.
