The electrochemical dyeing process patented by DyStar is about to undergo pilot trials under bulk operating conditions. Getzner Textil AG of Austria will be the first company in the world to use electrochemical technology for vat dyeing of yarn on a package dyeing unit. In December 2001, Getzner signed a cooperation agreement with TET (Technology Team Electrochemistry Textile) on joint trials with the new technology. TET is headed by DyStar, and other members include Innsbruck University's Institute for Textile Chemistry and Textile Physics in Austria and De Nora Deutschland GmbH of Germany. The machinery manufacturer Thies GmbH & Co. of Germany has a development contract with TET.
