The city of Alexandria issued the following press release:
The City of Alexandria's African American Heritage and Cultural Festival is scheduled for Saturday, July 22, from 1 to 7 pm at Market Square, 301 King St., in Old Town, Alexandria. Admission is free and the festival will be held rain or shine.
"For more than 30 years, we have been able to showcase traditional African heritage in the City of Alexandria," said Randy Stephens, Chair of the African American Heritage and Cultural Festival Committee, a cosponsor of the festival.
