GUWAHATI, July 14 -- In a unique gesture aimed at preserving a critical phase of the socio-political life of the State, Khanindra Chandra Das today donated a collection of copies of The Assam Tribune and the Dainik Asam covering the historic Assam Agitation from 1979 to 1985 to the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra library. The copies, which cover the entire stretch of the famed six-year-old movement against Bangladeshi infiltration culminating with the Assam Accord in 1985, are neatly compiled into 28 hardbound volumes.
