The village of Schaumburg issued the following news release:

Renaissance Hotels & Resorts and the Village of Schaumburg are celebrating the grand opening of the new $224 million Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel & Convention Center with a ribbon cutting ceremony and flag presentation on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 7:00 PM. The private ceremony will take place at the convention center/grand ballroom entrance, east of the hotel entrance at 1551 Thoreau Drive in Schaumburg, Illinois.

The ceremony will welcome village officials, area businesses and local residents. Schaumburg's Director of Convention Center Construction & Operations, Mr. Brad Townsend, will welcome guests and introduce ...
