Article: GOV. CARCIERI ADMINISTRATION TO TRANSFER NEARLY $400,000 TO NARRAGANSETT INDIAN TRIBE

Gov. Donald L. Carcieri, R-R.I., issued the following press release: The Rhode Island Department of Administration (DOA) yesterday informed the Narragansett Indian Tribe that they will be receiving $392,547.00 from the state in profits from newly installed video lottery terminals at Lincoln Greyhound Park.

The funding represents the annual share of those gambling profits - up to $10 million per year - due to the Tribe under legislation passed in 2005. This would be the first payment authorized by that legislation, which was primarily designed to facilitate the sale of Lincoln Park to BLB.
