The California State University issued the following press release:
The California State University Board of Trustees today announced that Don W. Kassing will remain as president of San José State University through the 2007/08 academic year. Kassing, who was appointed as interim president of the university in 2004, was subsequently appointed as permanent president in 2005 for a two year term, until summer 2007. He will now remain as president until summer 2008 with the CSU Board of Trustees initiating a search for his successor beginning in fall 2007.
