The City of Los Angeles issued the following news release:
Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo today announced the owner of several car wash and auto detail shops convicted of grand theft charges late last year has been sentenced to serve 90 days in jail and ordered to perform 45 days of Caltrans work.
The sentencing of Dwain Edward Walker, 41, closes out the case in which he and his company, Dwain Walker Detail, Inc., were each convicted on five counts of grand theft for failing to pay nearly $120,000 in overtime compensation and meet minimum wage requirements. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Monica Bachner had earlier ordered Walker and the company to repay $119,611 to 11 workers ...
