Hernando County issued the following news release:
Ken Wrinkle, Hernando County's Veteran Service Officer from 1993 until 2005, passed away at his home on Monday, July 17th, after a long illness. Ken was 56 years old. He served for 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and achieved the rank of Major.
During his tenure in the county's Veteran Service Officer he helped thousands of veterans and their families receive many thousands of dollars in benefits that they may not have otherwise received. He began the "Veterans' Voice" program on Channel 19 which provided an opportunity for veterans to share and preserve their wartime experiences with the community.
