The government of Bulgaria issued the following news release:

This is the first time that a Prime Minister of Kazakhstan has visited Bulgaria since diplomatic relations were established in 1992 and the visit will undoubtedly give real impetus to the bilateral political and economic relations between the two friendly countries. This opinion was voiced by both Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev and Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Daniyal Akhmetov after the signing of a Protocol on Mutual Encouragement and Reciprocal Protection of Investments.
