The city of Cedar Rapids issued the following news release:
Cedar Rapids residents are asked to turn on their porch lights and spend the evening outdoors on Tuesday, August 1 to celebrate National Night Out. National Night Out is designed to promote safety, strengthen neighborhoods, and boost anti-crime efforts.
In Cedar Rapids, 2006 marks the seventh year that our neighborhoods have come together to host their neighbors for National Night Out. Hundreds of neighbors have come together each of the last several years to participate in events held in their neighborhoods.
