Article: TRUMAN CAPOTE LITERARY TRUST AWARDS $25,000 TO APPALACHIAN'S CREATIVE WRITING PROGRAM

Appalachian State University issued the following press release:

The creative writing program in Appalachian State University's Department of English has received $25,000 from the Truman Capote Literary Trust.

The gift will be added to the endowment fund created by the trust in 1995 that established the Truman Capote Literary Trust Scholarship in Creative Writing.

Rising juniors and seniors who intend to pursue creative writing majors at Appalachian are eligible to compete for the scholarship, which is awarded annually. The scholarship competition now alternates between poetry and prose (fiction, creative nonfiction and dramatic works).
