The continued attention and recent news reports on the state of obesity in America have been linked with a rise in the number of people who have pre-diabetes. It is estimated by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that 41 million adults are living with elevated blood sugar levels that are not quite high enough to be considered diabetes. Among American children, those who are very obese have been found in studies to be pre-diabetic. People who fall into this category are at risk for developing type-2 diabetes, but may not progress to that stage if appropriate steps are taken to improve health and wellness.
