The magnificent Camden County Boathouse is now open on the banks of the Cooper River and standing tall as a symbol of scholastic and economic opportunity for years to come.
Hundreds of neighbors and supporters of the $6.4 million facility participated in opening day events on Saturday, July 29, that began with a run around Cooper River Park followed by a family fun day featuring tours of the boat house, live music, children's activities and a ribbon-cutting.
Following the ribbon-cutting, a team of rowers hoisted an eight-person shell onto their shoulders and marched through one of the six bay doors for the first official launch to complete a ...
