With new, modern cheese plants popping up in other parts of the country, officials at Alto Dairy Cooperative knew they had to do something to stay competitive.
That something was the launch of a new specialized brand - Black Creek - that will be sold at retail outlets across the country.
"We need to set ourselves apart from the competition. We need to find ways to differentiate ourselves," says Karen Endres, Alto's director of communications. "The dairy market is very competitive and volatile. We know we can add value to our company with the specialty products."
