NEW DELHI, India, Aug 3 -- THE DEMAND for a dress code in degree colleges has kicked up a debate in the city. The teachers and the students reacted equally to this issue. However, the main controversy is: Whether the dress code is meant only for girls.

Talking about the issue, some colleges said, "India is a secular country and every citizen has the freedom to dress oneself. So the students should have the freedom to dress themselves."
