Article: BERGEN COUNTY EXECUTIVE PROCLAIMS WOMEN'S EQUALITY DAY IN BERGEN COUNTY

The Bergen County Executive issued the following press release:

In commemoration of the 86th anniversary of the passage of the constitutional amendment that gave women the right to vote, County Executive Dennis McNerney and the Bergen County Commission on the Status of Women will celebrate Women's Equality Day on August 25, 2006.

"I urge all residents of Bergen County to take note of this day and the great achievements of the Women's Suffrage Movement, which lasted from the Seneca Falls Convention of 1848 to the passage of the 19th Amendment on August 26, 1920 and guaranteed women the right to vote," said McNerney.
