Article: USDA DESIGNATES COUNTIES IN TEXAS AS NATURAL DISASTER AREAS

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Farm Service Agency has issued the following press release:

The U.S. Department of Agriculture designated counties in Texas as primary natural disaster areas, making all qualified farm operators in the designated area eligible for low-interest emergency (EM) loans from USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA).

Llano, Lubbock and Victoria Counties were designated primary natural disaster areas.

Llano County was designated a primary disaster area due to losses caused by drought and excessive heat that occurred on Jan. 1, 2006, and continuing. Also eligible because they are contiguous are Blanco, Burnet, Gillespie, Mason and San Saba Counties.
