There were many changes in the 2006 Group Meetings. For starters, attendance was up by 25%. CBIZ/Benmark exclusively sponsored the events, which meant the meeting fee was waived and the golf fee was standardized. In addition to the traditional PAC awards, KBA unveiled the James E. Bruce Award, which is presented to one member in each group who performed above and beyond the call of duty in government relations. KBA board member nominations were held in Groups 9, 3/5 and 2. The nominees are: Joanne Duncan, Inez Deposit Bank, Group 9; Pedro Bryant, Louisville Community Development Bank, Group 3/5; and Steve Cox, First United Bank & Trust Company, Group 2.
