Article: New Voter Information Cards issued to all registered Broward County voters

On Jan. 1, 2006, the State of Florida instituted the "Florida Voter Registration System".

On that date, all voters registered in Florida became a part of a statewide voter system rather than separate county systems as in the past. In order to create a uniform voter registration numbering system, all Florida voters have been issued a unique nine-digit voter registration number by the State to replace the former county-issued number. In addition to the new voter identification numbers, the voting precinct number on your new Broward County identification card now appears with the alphabetical letter designation first, followed by a three digit number.
