Article: Japanese Inventors Develop Mathematical Expression Recognizing Device

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 21 -- Kazuaki Yokota and Yuko Eto, both of Tokyo, and Masakazu Suzuki of Fukoka-shi, Fukuoka-ken, Japan, have developed a mathematical expression recognizing device, a mathematical expression recognizing method, a character recognizing device and a character recognizing method.
