Article: Alabama Inventor Develops Multifocal Polarized Sunglasses

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 23 -- Stuart A. Parnell of Mobile, Ala., has developed a method of making a sunglasses lens. According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Polarized sunglasses and lenses, and methods related thereto, are provided that include multifocal segments and which have a total thickness of less than about five millimeters."

The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,093,935 on Aug. 22.
