The Connecticut Attorney General issued the following news release:
Attorney General Richard Blumenthal today announced that a health care services company has agreed to cease anticompetitive contracts conditioning the sale of dental services at certain long-term care facilities on the purchase of additional and distinct medical services.
HealthDrive, a Massachusetts company, conditioned the purchase of dental care services on the purchase of services such as audiological, podiatric and optometric services. These conditioned purchases - dubbed "tying" - tie less desirable purchases to more desirable ones. It compelled nursing homes to buy services from a particular health care provider - ...
