Article: South Charleston paves the way for more expansion in 1997

SOUTH CHARLESTON--South Charleston is quickly becoming a viable competitor in the state's business community, with more plans for expansion into 1997, according to city development leaders.

Steven Weir, president of the South Charleston Area Development Corp., said 1996 was a very good year for South Charleston, marked with the opening of several new businesses and the expansion of some of the city's largest industrial companies.

One of the Metro Valley's fastest growing areas is Southridge Centre, which is located along Corridor G south of South Charleston.
