A major goal of undergraduate nursing programs is assisting students to attain competencies for practice, and early introduction of tools that aid this process is important. Ideally, to enhance learning and support development of decision-making skills, students should have access to information at the moment that information is needed. Personal digital assistants (PDAs), which have evolved into powerful handheld computers, can be used to support this effort.
